My Story
For most of my adult life, I sought and tried multiple remedies for my personal failings; depression, misuse of substances, and isolating behaviors.
I tried every approach to healing I could, from different types of therapy to meditation, yoga, and religion, desperate for relief and a fix for these dreadful flaws. I believed I was broken, and once I was fixed I would be healed. But the harder I tried, the more elusive healing was.
I had a deep and strong desire to feel whole and eventually came to know that what I believed were my failings were actually trauma responses and symptoms of Complex PTSD.
I have experienced abusive relationships and trauma, and I know first-hand that healing is not simple nor easy.
After years of sitting on several therapist’s couches focused on trying to “fix” my “character flaws” (and failing), I eventually found support through a therapist whose work was not about the behaviors or the flaws, but the inherent worth of a person — and that changed everything.
My healing journey began when I finally had a safe space to get curious about who I am — and now I’m passionate about creating that safe space for others.
What does therapy with me look like?
I believe that you are the expert on your own life.
My holistic approach to therapy is rooted in trusting your unique growth and healing process — and supporting and encouraging you to do the same.
My therapy sessions are collaborative, set up to gently and truthfully hold space for you to explore what is getting in the way of healing, connection to self, and aliveness.
When we connect, you can expect to experience tears, laughter, challenge, lots of questions, and spaces of silence. In these moments, I will meet you where you are with respect, truth and compassion, asking questions that expand this space beyond the painful past and into the healing power of the present moment.

I use a holistic approach to psychotherapy, incorporating trauma-informed modalities like NARM (Neuro Affective Relational Model), Somatic Experiencing and other experiential ways of working with the nervous system.
